Sunny South was born from an obsession with Hawaiian shirts that couldn't be ignored. For years, they've been my unofficial uniform. Whether it’s work, happy hour, the beach, boat, farmers market, or even the gym. For me, nothing beats the comfort, versatility, and easy style of a good Hawaiian shirt. They make you feel like the best version of yourself: laid-back and confident.

The only problem? The shirts I loved were either wildly overpriced or impossible to find. The ones that fit well didn’t excite me, and the ones that excited me didn’t fit. So I did what any lifelong daydreamer with a closet full of Hawaiian shirts might do, I built the brand I’d been imagining since I was fifteen.

Sunny South started as a high school logo sketch and a dream. MANY years later, I finally pulled the thread and followed it all the way here. From fabric development and fit testing to sketching designs and building this site, every step has been a labor of love.

To make sure I didn’t sink the ship before it set sail, I teamed up with my sister Jessica. She’s got Kelly Kapoor’s flair, but with actual follow-through business bitch energy, backed by receipts. Together, we’re chasing the dream. Our shirts are built for sunshine and good times. High quality, fair prices, and designs that make you smile.
